Peri-menopause means simply 'around menopause' and begins when a woman starts to experience signs that her hormones are changing. It can start anytime from early 40's to early 50's and can last for years. It is a transitional period, which should be embraced and celebrated as a normal stage of life. However, for many it is often a difficult time with 8 out of 10 women experiencing unpleasant and unwanted symptoms, such as:

hot flushes, headaches, anxiety, night sweats, mood swings, sleeping issues, brain fog, fatigue, bloating, muscle tightness, joint pains . . . . and the list goes on . . . . . . .

The severity of symptoms differs, with some women experiencing no symptoms and feeling a sense of freedom now menstrual cycles have stopped. But, for many it can leave them feeling like they are no longer in control of their own bodies, it can affect every day life and take its toll on family relationships.
