About Me
Hello, I'm Karen Phillips, the owner of Serene Holistic Therapy (previously Serene Holistic Beauty). I started my business in April 2016, offering beauty therapies and from June 2017 I expanded to include Complementary Therapies.
Over the last few years I have ceased offering Beauty treatments and now concentrate on providing beautiful, luxurious holistic treatments for female clients, with a strong emphasis on relaxation, reducing stress and an increased feeling of wellbeing.
I have completed further Professional Development Training in Maternity Reflexology & Massage and Facial Reflexology techniques for peri-menopause so I can better support women through these important milestones in their lives.
I am based from my home in the Round Hill area of Ingleby Barwick, Stockton on Tees, where I provide a quiet, restful and welcoming environment where you can be indulged and pampered.
An idea is born
After many years working as an Administrator in the Civil Service, I was becoming dis-satisfied with my increasingly stressful job and needed a new challange.
I have always had a strong interest in complementary therapies having sought them out to help with my own gynaecological health conditions. So I made the decision in my 40's I would retrain for a completely new career. After enroling at Darlington College, I gained my VTCT Level 2 Diploma in Beauty Therapy in June 2016 and followed this with a VTCT Level 3 Diploma in Complementary Therapies in June 2017.
In November 2017 I made the brave decision to leave my Civil Service job and I am now pursuing a career which I love. I especially feel passionate about supporting women, whether through their pregnancy, through menopause or supporting them with female health conditions such as endometriosis.
It's never too late to start on a new path.
